About KD-0-PNP otherwise known as Derek McCorkell , my Qth is Elk River in the State of Minnesota USA.Though I live these days in Minnesota USA I originally come from Northern Ireland having only moved over here to the US since 2005.Before that period my home location was the town of Ballymena in County Antrim Northern Ireland. In 1988 I took my UK Amateur Radio License obtaining my Class B Call of Gi7CNO I held this until 1992 when I took the Morse Code Test and upgraded to a Class A Callsign Gi0SFX. I was very active on the air until my move here to the USA in 2005 but since then I have not been active until now in 2011.Where I’ve found a new love once more for the hobby of Amateur Radio, and have since gone on to pass both my Tech & General exams and earned the callsign KD0PNP of which I’m very proud to own.I am active mainly on CW QRP on 20 meters and sometimes on 10 meters CW ,owing to antenna restrictions at my current location QRP is the only choice for operating these days. I also monitor 2 meters FM periodically usually on 146.850 repeater but not really a big fan of FM operating.
I’ll be nattering on about all things Ham Radio as time goes by so bear with me.Also look for me on Hamsphere and let’s have a proper old Rag-Chew.
73′s for now Derek KD0PNP
